You can make this contribution • Ensure the use of the HPC platform (CSCS) for MeteoSchweiz applications and drive their further development together with internal and external partners • Take up, prioritize and represent requirements from operations, research and development vis-à-vis the CSCS, and coordinate improvements in terms of performance, stability and scalability • Develop components of numerical weather forecasting systems as well as the associated workflow and data infrastructure, and adapt them to new technological requirements • Support and advise scientists in the areas of software development, HPC usage and operations • Ensure the reliable operation of business-critical production systems (including best-effort interventions and third-level support) What makes you unique • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Science or a related field • Several years of practical experience in software engineering, preferably with Python and modern software development practices as well as cloud-native architectures • Experience in operating and further developing high-performance computing environments as well as complex data and software workflows • Ability to take up technical requirements of different stakeholders, prioritize them and implement them with internal and external partners • Good knowledge of at least two official languages as well as English What we offer • Working for Switzerland We are committed to the Swiss success model and work for the benefit of the population. • Lived diversity Thanks to equal opportunities, we unfold our competencies and bring in different perspectives. • Healthy at work We support and advise our employees in the area of physical and mental health.
